Orthomassage
A comprehensive approach to relieving acute or chronic pain starts with a brief body assessment to determine structural imbalances and points of pain, and a discussion of events that may have contributed to injury.
A treatment plan is formed to address specific areas of imbalance, and the source of pain. Treatment is then performed on a table, or a mat on the floor, utilizing self care tools such as: air filled balls, bands, stretching straps, sandbags, yoga blocks or bolsters, and rollers. The use of fascial percussion vibration or soft tissue release instruments, cupping, trigger points, myofascial release, passive/active stretching, and joint mobilization may be indicated for treatment as well. Self care instructions for continuing treatment at home, may also be recommended.

This traditional therapy includes gentle passive stretching, rhythmic compression and range-of-motion. Thai massage is applied to the clothed body, with the exception of the feet, and performed on a mat on the floor. The recipient should wear loose comfortable cotton clothing.
Thai massage stimulates the flow of blood and lymph, warms the tissues, induces feelings of relaxation, peace of mind, happiness, flexibility and youthfulness.

Massage & Cupping
Cupping refers to an ancient Chinese practice in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced by suctioning out air, so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup. In some cases, the cup may be moved while the suction of skin is active, causing a subtle, regional pulling of the skin and muscle. This technique has been used for over 2,500 years to treat various ailments. The negative pressure created from the cup helps increase blood flow to tense muscles and to separate layers of muscle and connective tissue that may have formed adhesions. In this session, cupping will be used intermittently along with other massage techniques to treat the affected areas.

Full Body Wellness
When our bodies are hurting, it is usually trying to tell us something is not right with the system. Easing or eliminating pain may require an evaluation of other areas of your lifestyle that may be contributing. Sometimes a simple change can make the biggest shift. In this session, we will assess: nutrition, gut health, inflammation, sleep patterns, emotional state, posture, fitness and exercise, ergonomics, repetitive use patterns, and self care; to determine other factors that may be contributing to pain cycles in your body. Recommendations, referrals, guidance and self care tools may be offered as well.
This service can be added to any treatment session, or scheduled separately.
